Buck Buchanan
Biography:
"Buck" was born and raised in Casper, Wyoming, where he attended Natrona County High School. He graduated with a degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming, where he also played baseball and ran track. After graduation he began a retail career with J.C.Penney in Denver. He became the merchandise manager for the Boulder Penney store in 1965 and has been in Boulder ever since.
After resigning from Penney's in 1968, "Buck" opened and operated The Buccaneer, Ltd., which grew to a chain of eight women's upscale clothing stores. Besides The Buccaneer, Ltd., which had a twenty-four year run, "Buck" has been involved in several other successful retail businesses and real estate investments. He was a long-standing member of the University Hill Improvement District and has served on the boards of directors of several local businesses. He also sponsored and supported numerous bicycle teams and events such as the Red Zinger Mini Classic and was a producing partner for several Colorado Shakespeare Festival productions.

"Buck" and his wife Nancy of forty-four years have raised two wonderful daughters, Kyley and Torey. Kyley, a successful businesswoman, resides in Thornton, Colorado, with her husband David, five-year old Avery and three-year old twin girls, Lily and Sidney. Torey, a PA (physician assistant), lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Chris and works for the Rebound orthopedic group. She just gave birth to Leah, their first child.
"Buck" and Nancy are avid outdoors people and enjoy travel, whether in the good old USA or abroad. Nancy's likes are hiking, cycling, gardening and reading. As for "Buck", if there is a ballgame of any sort in the area, he will be there! He is also an enthusiastic tennis player and, without saying, loves his Colorado Buffaloes, those Wyoming Cowboys, and it goes without saying, those Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos.
